We are honored to present Tay Cher Siang, one of Malaysia’s most influential jazz pianists, composers, and educators, to our Teachers' Event Beyond the Score Series 2, which is happening on 18th November 2025. 

Cher Siang is the founder of WVC Jazz, one of Southeast Asia’s leading contemporary jazz ensembles, and a driving force behind the revival and recognition of jazz in the region. With a career that spans international performances, award-winning recordings, and collaborations across cultures, he has shaped the soundscape of Asian jazz while staying rooted in storytelling and identity.

Beyond the stage, Tay Cher Siang is a passionate educator who has guided countless young musicians to find their own voices, championing creativity and authenticity in music-making. His artistry, paired with his ability to break down complex musical ideas into engaging conversations, makes him the perfect voice for our series.
