Rita Liew
Founder of Music Matters | Singapore Representative for Encore Music Education Australia | Music Educator
Rita Liew is the founder of Music Matters, a platform dedicated to equipping music educators with resources and support that elevate their teaching experience. Since 2010, she has been actively involved in organising and promoting events for teachers training, both on-site and online.
As the Singapore Representative for Encore Music Education, Rita conducts teacher training and has been instrumental in growing the Encore community. In 2017, she launched the Encore Star Online Competition, creating a vibrant avenue for young musicians to perform and shine.
Before returning to Singapore, Rita served as a missionary in Thailand with OMF from 1994 to 2006, an experience that shaped her heart for people and education. Today, she continues to teach piano privately.
Her vision is to see music education reframed as essential, not optional – a transformative force that nurtures creativity, confidence and connection in every child.
