Singing Together

Researchers shared something fascinating: singing in a group reduces chronic pain much more than singing alone. And in another study, older adults with heart disease improved their blood vessel function after singing for just 30 minutes. Scientists are now using advanced brain scans to understand why music helps us so much. They study how melody, harmony, and rhythm change the brain, and how listening to music compares to actually making it. Music lights up parts of the brain linked to movement, emotions, memory, and even thinking. That’s why it can help with Parkinson’s disease, stroke recovery, anxiety, stress, and even Alzheimer’s.
